I decided to work with matches because they are mass produced objects and usually considered rubbish. I was hoping to transform my matches into something solid and add some value to them.
Working with matches means working with processed wood. This fact led me to the idea of creating a piece of wooden furniture, a table in particular. When considering possible shapes and forms I thought about a stump. Stumps (just like matches) were parts of trees – one day alive, now dead. Moreover the shape of a stump, naturally reminds a table. My matchstick table recycles matches which are used as row furniture material. Thousands of matches once produced to be burnt are getting a new life.

My variation on cardboard.

Paintings created using hands (red) and feet (blue). My inspiration was drawn from K. Kieslowski's trilogy - "Three Colours: Red, Blue, White"
In this project we had a chance to explore words or numbers or a combination of them. I decided to work with words. We use words all the time and sometimes we forget how beautiful and powerful they can be... I described myself using a short poem found by my mother in a newspaper years ago... Me and a girl described in this poem bear the same name... and still there are more similarities between us...
